Pandemic Dairy

are a series of small drawings made at home using vinyl, ink pens, paper and a digital laser printer (cricut). Each drawing is telling a story about my day during the pandemic on 2020 and I am very thankful that this approach helped me resist through it all.

"America Olivo works from sketches that she makes with great mastery on paper with ink and collage, in which she creates her dairy in a pandemic, which today is exhibited in this collective, with records of what she experienced in the still present global health crisis. She uses structural elements of Caribbean architecture as a source of inspiration. Which she extrapolates in her pieces, Subsequently, she carries out multiple processes ranging from recycling, sewing, and pigmentation on fabrics that enrich the final results of her experimental creations in which America explores concepts of superimpositon, concealment, and disappearance".
